Le programme Atip-Avenir

Depuis 2009, ATIP-Avenir permet aux jeunes chercheurs qui présentent un projet de très haut niveau de créer leur propre équipe. Ce programme favorise également leur installation en France au sein d’une structure d’accueil Inserm ou CNRS et finance leurs travaux pendant cinq ans. ATIP-Avenir est devenu un label d’excellence reconnu en France et dans le monde et une référence pour obtenir d’autres financements comme les ERC.

Qui peut postuler ?

Le programme ATIP-Avenir s’adresse aux chercheurs, sans restriction de nationalité, qui ont obtenu leur thèse de sciences (ou un diplôme équivalent) depuis plus de 2 ans et moins de 8 ans. Des dérogations pourront être accordées pour maternité (12 mois par enfant) ou congé de paternité et/ou service militaire.

Le programme est ouvert à tout chercheur ou enseignant chercheur, quel que soit son organisme d’appartenance (EPST, université, hôpital, école vétérinaire, etc…) et à tout chercheur non statutaire. Les candidatures de docteurs en médecine/pharmacie sont très vivement encouragées.

Les candidats ne doivent pas avoir rejoint leur laboratoire d’accueil depuis plus de 18 mois et ne doivent pas y retrouver un de leurs précédents mentors. Des dérogations pourront être accordées aux candidats hospitalo-universitaires. Les candidats peuvent soumettre leur dossier en l’absence de laboratoire d’accueil.

Les bénéficiaires d’un soutien similaires au programme ATIP-Avenir – comme les financements ANR ou ERC destinés à développer un projet indépendant – ne sont pas éligibles. Les candidats ne peuvent pas postuler à plus de 2 appels d’offres différents du programme ATIP-Avenir.

Les projets présentés doivent s’inscrire dans l’ensemble des thématiques des sciences de la vie et de la santé. Les projets interdisciplinaires alliant la biologie aux mathématiques, sciences physiques, informatique, chimie, santé publique (plus spécifiquement les déterminants sociaux de la santé ou/et sur les services de santé) sont encouragés. Les projets doivent répondre aux règles d’éthique de l’Inserm et du CNRS.

Quels sont les moyens attribués ?

Le soutien ATIP-Avenir est attribué pour 5 ans. Les moyens attribués comprennent :

  • une dotation annuelle de 60 000 €
  • un CDD de deux ans pour le recrutement d’un chercheur postdoctoral ou d’un ingénieur
  • un salaire pendant cinq ans pour les lauréats non statutaires

Le laboratoire d’accueil devra allouer à l’équipe une surface de recherche de 50 m² au minimum, (les frais d’infrastructures seront à la charge du laboratoire d’accueil), et assurer l’accès aux plateformes technologiques du site.

Des partenaires sont associés au programme et sont susceptibles de cofinancer des projets selon le domaine : ANRS-MIE (Agence nationale de recherches sur le sida et les hépatites virales – Maladies Infectieuses Emergentes), AFM-Téléthon (Association française contre les myopathies), ARC (Fondation ARC pour la recherche sur le cancer), FINOVI (Fondation innovations en infectiologie), Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, LNCC (Ligue nationale contre le cancer), Stratégie décennale de lutte contre les cancers 2021 – 2030, Idex et I‑SITE.

Comment se déroule la sélection ?

La sélection se fait en deux temps : une présélection sur dossier (en mars-avril), suivie d’une audition pour les candidats présélectionnés (en mai-juin). La liste des candidats retenus et leur structure d’accueil est établie conjointement par les directions de l’Inserm et du CNRS. Elle est généralement publiée début juillet.

Les projets sont évalués par un comité scientifique international réparti en jurys de spécialités.
