Inserm has implemented new tools for international cooperation. These enable each laboratory to find the funding most suited to its needs, according to the progress made in building a partnership with a foreign entity. Two calls for proposals are currently open for projects in the exploration and consolidation phases.
Inserm funds international collaborations through a range of initiatives adapted to the stage of partnership between its teams and their foreign counterparts. These are structured as follows:
- Exploration: First steps / Projet Tremplin
- Seed funding: International Research Projects (IRPs)
- Structuring: Key International Partnerships (KIPs)
- Integration: Thematic Coordination Program (TCP)
An initial call for proposals has recently been launched for the first two initiatives:
Through the First steps / Projet Tremplin, young Inserm teams are allocated €10,000 over one year to explore avenues of collaboration with a foreign team.
The International Research Projects (IRP) initiative offers emerging or existing partnerships financial support of up to €75,000 over five years.
Application deadline for the aforementioned calls for proposals: September 7, 2020 at 05:00 p.m. (Paris time)
